BREAKING WITH TRADITION

Good morning bloggers! Merry Christmas! It's Saturday so it's time for a new challenge at Crafty Hazelnut's Christmas Challenge . As always, it's an "ANYTHING GOES" challenge as long as it's Christmas related, with the optional theme this week of "Any Christmas or New Year card".

The winner is picked randomly each week and Hazel is willing to post the prize anywhere in the world! This week's prize is this:

 Set of acrylic stamps

I've failed this year in my usual tradition of using the Christmas colouring class from Kit and Clowder for my last card of the year. Just have not found the time to finish it. So I've gone with my favourite reindeer die cut instead, making a simple card using snippets of card I had left over from other projects.

I hope you've all managed to have a good Christmas, it's been different but still good. We have much to be thankful for.

Looking forward to seeing your makes.

I have layered up some lovely foiled paper and a matching topper. I think this was from a set I bought from The Works. I added a little sentiment topper from my stash.

And now it's time to wish you all a very Merry Christmas! Hope everyone manages to enjoy themselves, somehow. Ours will be a quiet day but we will make the most of it!

Looking forward to seeing your makes.

QUICK AND EASY

Good morning bloggers! It's Saturday so it's time for a new challenge at Crafty Hazelnut's Christmas Challenge . As always, it's an "ANYTHING GOES" challenge as long as it's Christmas related, with the optional theme this week of "Quick and easy".

The winner is picked randomly each week and Hazel is willing to post the prize anywhere in the world! This week's prize is this:

Kanban Clear Acrylic Stamps

I have used a pre-printed card and simply added a "Merry Christmas" diecut. Can't get much simpler than that! I wish I could remember where I got these cards from; they came with matching envelopes and are so very pretty!
Even though my grumpy hubby won't allow us to put the decs up yet, I am so ready for the big day! We've kept present buying to one household this year so that has been easy to do, and no stress! I'm all set!

Looking forward to seeing your makes.

HAPPY 100TH SPECIAL LADY

Good morning and welcome to December! Where did that year go!
It's a new month so it's new challenge time at Crafty Hazelnut's Patterned Paper Challenge . As always, it's an "ANYTHING GOES" challenge but you must use some patterned paper or card. Hazel offers a prize each month and is willing to post anywhere in the world so anyone can enter, and you can enter as many times as you like!
I have had the pleasure of making this special card for an old customer of mine. I found out by accident that this dear lady was 100 years old! Just had to make her a card. She is possibly the most interesting lady I have ever met. So much knowledge and such interesting tales to tell. Unfortunately, because of the new big C, I couldn't see her but I'm sure she celebrated as well as she could.
I have used more goodies from the HunkyDory kit that just keeps on going!
Looking forward to seeing your makes.

I have made a double-folded card, using backing paper from a freebie magazine set. Who doesn't love a robin?! I doodle around the edges with black pen. Simple but I really love this card.

EMBOSSED CHRISTMAS TREE

Good morning bloggers! It's Saturday so it's time for a new challenge at Crafty Hazelnut's Christmas Challenge . As always, it's an "ANYTHING GOES" challenge as long as it's Christmas related, with the optional theme this week of "Use some glitter".

The winner is picked randomly each week and Hazel is willing to post the prize anywhere in the world! This week's prize is this:

Acrylic Stamp Set

I have used another magazine freebie this week. I stamped the tree with Versamark ink and used white embossing powder. I cheated a little with the glitter (it annoys me!) so I used glitter glue to highlight the edge of the circle and the snowflake.
It's my big birthday today...I was hoping to delay it for 12 months in the hope I'd be able to celebrate properly but my family said no! It will be a quiet affair with a big family quiz via Zoom tonight.

Looking forward to seeing your makes
Stay safe and big hugs.

BUTTONED SNOWFLAKE

Good morning bloggers! It's Saturday so it's time for a new challenge at Crafty Hazelnut's Christmas Challenge . As always, it's an "ANYTHING GOES" challenge as long as it's Christmas related, with the optional theme this week of "Add one or more buttons".

The winner is picked randomly each week and Hazel is willing to post the prize anywhere in the world! This week's prize is this:

Acrylic Stamp Set

I have made a layered snowflake topper for my card, adding a bright blue button from the huge box my Mum left me. I die cut " Merry Christmas" greeting in matching blue, adding a little gem on the "i".

It's been a strange week at work. We thought it would be a mad rush again as we entered another lock down but it's been quite calm, thankfully.

Hope everyone is safe, and please remember to check in on family and friends. Your little phone call or message could mean the world!

ON YOUR SPECIAL DAY

Good morning and welcome to November!

I found another Hunkydory freebie in my huge pile of magazines. It's a beautiful collection, one of those "I really don't want to cut these papers up" types!! I die-cut the backing piece then used toppers from the set. A quick card....can't believe I've had a week off work and it's gone SO fast! My time has been spent clearing my Dad's house, an ongoing task but I'm getting there.
Hope you are all safe and well. As I type this, we are awaiting an announcement by Boris on possibly going into another full lockdown. I just can't see an end to this madness.
Looking forward to seeing your makes.

Stamping, embossing and die cutting set

"Butterly Notes"

I have used backing paper I found in my Christmas box, along with a few dies to make my card.  The very keen eyed among you may notice my little "cheat" here!

I've had a week off work....but have decided work is far easier! I've spent all week clearing my Dad's house and looking after hubby. He's doing well after his appendectomy, treated him to a walk round town this week....he's so lucky!

Looking forward to seeing your makes.

ALMOST NORTHERN LIGHTS

Good morning bloggers! It's Saturday so it's time for a new challenge at Crafty Hazelnut's Christmas Challenge . As always, it's an "ANYTHING GOES" challenge as long as it's Christmas related, with the optional theme this week of "Make your own background".

The winner is picked randomly each week and Hazel is willing to post the prize anywhere in the world! This week's prize is this:

Now, I'm not that creative when it comes to backgrounds so I wimped out a little here. I had a rummage and found some colour block inkpads and just had a play with those. I went for the purple, simply dragging it along the card. I then added a beautiful die dut and some "snow" with my white gel pen. I quite like the finished result...it's kind od Northern Lights!
Looking forward to seeing your makes (and a week off work!).

I've had another one of those weeks! Husband with appendicitis, which came on really quickly. He's had the op and is now home recovering. And my Dad's youngest brother passed away this week, after a short illness. Only one uncle left now. 2020 has not been a good year!
Looking forward to seeing your makes.

I'm off to enjoy five minutes with my son....he's 23 today but I'll only see him briefly this morning!

Looking forward to seeing your makes.

TARTAN TREE

Good morning bloggers! It's Saturday so it's time for a new challenge at Crafty Hazelnut's Christmas Challenge . As always, it's an "ANYTHING GOES" challenge as long as it's Christmas related, with the optional theme this week of "Use some plaid, checked or gingham paper".

The winner is picked randomly each week and Hazel is willing to post the prize anywhere in the world! This week's prize is this:

I have used the last bit of my favourite paper (this was a pack from Lidl) to make my card. I do love a bit of tartan! Added a little sentiment Christmas tree and a few flat-backed pearls to finish off.
I've had a bit of a week! Started feeling poorly on Tuesday, by Wednesday I couldn't get out of bed. Bad cough and bit of a temperature so decided to get tested for Covid-19. The test is just gross, and I'm just sat waiting for results to come through. Anxious!!
Anyway, I'm feeling a little bit better than I was so it's not all bad.
Looking forward to seeing your makes.

Stamp set

I've had a bit of a crafty clearout this week. Nothing gone to waste though as I've got a friend who works on a Dementia Unit and she has all my "leftovers" to make things with the patients in her care.
I found a magazine I hadn't even opened (shameful!) and it contained a Nutcracker freebie set. So that's what I've used for my card. I embossed a piece of gold mirri card as my backing, and used papers and toppers from the set.
Looking forward to seeing your makes.

FLORAL HELLO

Good morning and welcome to September!

The prize this month is this:

Bo Bunny
36 sheets of
Butterfly Kisses Collection
and
Bo Bunny butterfly kisses buttons

For my card, I have used up some scraps of paper, cutting each one with a die and layering them up. I added a simple "Hello" sentiment.

Can't believe that's another month gone. It's been a crappy year. I am so in need of something nice to happen. I'm 50 in a couple of months but I think I'm going to postpone my birthday for another year. Staying 49!!!

Looking forward to seeing you makes.

The winner is picked randomly each week and Hazel is willing to post the prize anywhere in the world! This week's prize is this:

I have been AWOL for a couple of weeks. During the thunderstorms, a huge bolt of lightning hit somewhere really close to us (still trying to discover exactly where); I love a storm but when the house shook, even I was scared! Anyway, no major damage except it blew our router. No internet for over a week, that taught the young uns' a lesson!
Back up and running now though. My card is another simple one. I cut some snowflakes from glittery card and and attached them to black squares. These are stuck onto white card with foam pads, adding a little sentiment to finish it off.
Looking forward to seeing you makes.
