PLAYING WITH INKS

Hello bloggers! It's Saturday so it's time for a new challenge at Crafty Hazelnut's Christmas Challenge . As always, it's an "ANYTHING GOES" challenge as long as it's Christmas related, with the optional theme this week of "MAKE YOUR OWN BACKGROUND".

I had a play with my distress inks to make my background. I made a little spray mixture and also used a dropper to make blobs of ink, which I then splayed out with a cocktail stick. I cut out some stars, adding Diamond Dust to the top layer of these. Love how this card turned out.

Looking forward to seeing your makes.

SWIRLY CHRISTMAS TREE

Hello bloggers! It's Saturday so it's time for a new challenge at Crafty Hazelnut's Christmas Challenge . As always, it's an "ANYTHING GOES" challenge as long as it's Christmas related, with the optional theme this week of "INCLUDE A FLOWER".

I actually had a full day off work yesterday and it was really lovely! I spent time with my daughter ( she's mad as a box of frogs but I love her so much)....and I caught up with my card-making. Perfect.

I had to drag my old Cricut machine out this week so while it was all set up I cut a few different shapes, this swirly tree was one of them. I've teamed it up with holly print backing paper and a beautiful poinsetia flower.

Looking forward to seeing your makes.

THE NIGHTMARE CHRISTMAS STOCKING

Hello bloggers! It's Saturday so it's time for a new challenge at Crafty Hazelnut's Christmas Challenge . As always, it's an "ANYTHING GOES" challenge as long as it's Christmas related, with the optional theme this week of "INCLUDE A STOCKING".

Well, I had a right game this week. For once, I knew exactly what card I wanted to make, with a beautiful, intricate stocking die, so I set about making it. Got my Big Shot out of my cupboard and looking through my file of Christmas dies...I'm not the most organised of people but I knew it was there somewhere. IT WASN'T! I searched everywhere and it was nowhere to be seen. So plan B, I handcut a stocking from red and white card, adding faux snow to the white bits. I cut a strip of snowlake backing paper and put the card together, embellishing with wooden snowflakes. It's okay but not as pretty as the die. I put all my things away, looked at my table and there it was. My missing die had been hiding under my Big Shot!

To make matters worse, when I tried to do my blog post, my PC decided it wasn't going to play. Got it sorted now (damn Windows updates!)....and here we are. Better late than never.

Looking forward to seeing your makes.

SENTIMENTAL CHRISTMAS

Hello bloggers! It's Saturday so it's time for a new challenge at Crafty Hazelnut's Christmas Challenge . As always, it's an "ANYTHING GOES" challenge as long as it's Christmas related, with the optional theme this week of "SENTIMENT AS FOCAL POINT".

I have used a "Merry Christmas" bauble sentiment die cut on some bauble backing paper, finished off with a felt holly sprig.

Looking forward to seeing your makes.

FOR SOMEONE SPECIAL AT CHRISTMAS

Hello bloggers! It's Saturday so it's time for a new challenge at Crafty Hazelnut's Christmas Challenge . As always, it's an "ANYTHING GOES" challenge as long as it's Christmas related, with the optional theme this week of "FOR SOMEONE SPECIAL".

Every year, I make a card for my very special neighbours, using one of my colourings from Kit and Clowder classes. I dread letting my colourings go, but I know this will be in safe hands...my neighbour keeps them all!

Looking forward to seeing your makes.

SPARKLING BUTTERFLY

Good morning! It's a new month which means it's new challenge time at Crafty Hazelnut's Patterned Paper Challenge. The theme, as always, is "ANYTHING GOES". We simply require you to use some patterned paper or card. Time to use that stash!

I have used a Hunkydory kit I found in my stash, adding silver ribbon and gems to give the card a little sparkle. I have made this card in a similar design to last month's card, as they are for twins!

Looking forward to seeing your makes.
