Poppy Power Milton!
Well....I do love this little guy! I chose to colour his poppy pink this time, as it was the colour of a poppy that sprung up out of nowhere in my garden last year. I've kept the seeds so hopefully I'll have loads more this year! Fingers crossed.xx
I've made a criss-cross pocket card with papers from Cuddly Buddly, and edged it with some white lace. I've stamped me little "Milton with Poppy" from Wild Rose Studio , and coloured him with Promarkers. The layered flowers are from my stash, and I've stuck black beads in the centre of each, to match the poppy!
I'm entering this one in the  Joanna Sheen Challenge and the I Love Promarkers challenge both called "Flower Power"!

Pretty Angel spreading the Joy!

Out came the NitWit papers again...I do love them. These are from the "Heavenly" collection. I've layered them onto gold mirri card and made the base stepper card in light blue. I've added some sparkly trim and some gold Stickles. Another one to enter into CraftyhazelnutsChristmasChallenge which this week is to use any greeting/sentiment WITHOUT the word Christmas!
I'm off now to buy some more Nitwit papers, just noticed they have a sale on! http://www.nitwitcollections.com/shop/ is the place to go!
Happy wet sunday! Looking on the bright -side, it is IDEAL card-making weather!

Red Red Robin Christmas Card

Another Christmas Card! Oh yes please! For this one I've layered up papers from Papermania's "Classic Christmas" collection with gold mirri card, with a big splash of tartan ribbon. The topper is from the same paper collection, and it feels like a cheat to me, but I just could NOT resist thoses robins! I've finished it off with some gold holly leaves and red flat-backed pearls.Another one I will be entering in Crafty Hazelnuts Christmas Challenge.
That's all from me today. But hooray for me.....another day off tomorrow!

Spring Fling Birthday Card
I've had an extra day off work today to study. I managed to do an hour or so before the crafting addiction took over! So I've made this card with Spring in mind to enter the WOC challenge "Spring is in the air" and the Stampwithsarahkay challenge "Spring".
I've stamped my Sarah Kay "Katie" onto white card and coloured her in with lilac and pinky Promarkers. The backing paper is very apt, it's from Kate Knight's "Spring Fling" collection (a freebie too!), with a matching sentiment. The flowers are mainly from Wild Orchid Crafts . The pearls and trimmings are all from my stash.
Hope you like her!

Dreaming of a Black and White Christmas!

This is a card I've made with men in mind. Lots of matting and layering in holly print paper, silver mirri, white and black card. I've used a die-cut tree which I've added a bit of Stickles to. Then simply embellished (because men like simple!) with black flat-backed pearls and a silver padded reindeer.
This will be my second entry in craftyhazelnutschristmaschallenge. And I will also be entering it in tuesdayalchemy challenge-11-black-white

Sparkling Skater Girl

This is my last post for today, honest!
I've used a digistamp from bugaboostamps (one of the stamps I bought with my winnings!), and coloured her in with promarkers, with a sprinkling of Stickles. I've layered her onto blue glitter paper and silver mirri card, then created more layers with Dovecrafts "WinterWonderland" papers. I've embellished her with my favourite Christmas trim...the pompoms! And a snowflake brad, and clip from my stash.
That's it from me today...just got to enter this one in craftyhazelnutschristmaschallenge "lots of layers" and sparklesforumchristmaschallenge "Colour me happy". Then it's wine o'clock!
Have a great weekend.

18th Birthday Easel card

I was asked by my neighbour to make a card for her niece's 18th....without a bottle or glass of booze on it! The colour scheme was inspired by the present she bought, which was a chunky glass bead pendant necklace. The papers are from Papermania Birdsong, everything else from my stash.
I'm entering this one in the crazy4challenges make it POP with black cardstock!

Chirpy Chirpy Cheep Cheep

One of today's little offerings (oh yes, there will be more!). The colour scheme is inspired by the Ribbon Girls Colour Challenge to use orange, pink and aqua. So I've had a rummage and found these papers I bought ages ago, Papermania Birdsong. Bingo! I cut a birdcage and the little birdies on my Cricut and got layering! The flowers are mainly from WOC with a few from my stash. The doily is from kraftyhands but I'm sorry but I can't remember where the sentiment stamp is from!

Silent night after a noisy day!

And what a day. Mega busy at work, even my boss commented on how bedraggled I looked when I left! And it's been glorious sunshine followed by massive rainfall which is currently battering my conservatory roof!
So, I've made a Christmas card, as you do! This one had to have a musical theme as I will be entering it in two challenges craftyhazelnuts christmas challenge favourite carol or song and cardmaking and papercraft music-challenge.
I decided to make a gatefold card to make the most of the glorious papers which are from Papermania "A Silent Night", how apt! They are truly beautiful! The verse I printed out on my computer, and distressed it with Tim Holtz inks. The music print card is from my stash. I've decorated the inside of the card to coordinate with the front. I've used flat-backed pearls and hearts to embellish, and a few burgundy and gold roses to finish it off.
Hope you like it!

Birthday Card for Grandad!
I do so love this stamp from Wild Rose Studio because it is the spitting image of my neighbour, who we all call Grandad! I've coloured him in with promarkers and done lots of the ol' matting and layering. Papers are from Daisy and Dandelion, everything else is from my stash.
I'm entering this in the Joanna Sheen challenge "It's a man's world".
Have a lovely weekend. My hubby is doing a parachute jump tomorrow for charity, so I'll be pottering away trying to keep my mind of that!

Susie ponders trilogy Part Three
The third and final one for today. One of my favourite colour combinations, lilac and yellow. I have to apologise as I don't know what the papers are (sorry!). I have really been enjoying myself having a good root round my craft room....it's amazing the stuff we crafters hoard! I've used a diamante-centred organza flower on this one. I've layered yellow and liac ribbon and tied a simple knot in it. Finished it off with a few butterfly punchies and some flat-backed pearls.
That's it. Challenge complete!

Susie ponders trilogy Part Two
The second in my personal challenge. As I normally print my stamps with black ink I thought I'd try something different and used a Tim Holtz Distress Ink instead, which lead to a vintage theme. This is my husband's favourite (he likes simple....it's why he married me!). I've used backing papers from my stash and edged everything with sepia promarker. Apart from the flowers, which are mainly from Wild Orchid Crafts, everything is bits and bobs I've rediscovered in my craft room. What looks like a black blob in the corner is actually a coin charm!

Susie ponders trilogy Part One

As I had to get up at stupid o'clock today to supervise the Easter Egg Hunt I've had plenty of time to get crafting! I set myself a challenge today. One stamp, one sketch, three cards, no problem! So this is the first effort which I will be entering in craftyhazelnutschristmaschallenge. This Sarah Kay image is one of my faves. I've coloured this one in shades of blue and added a little Stickles as it's a Christmas theme. The backing papers are from Dovecraft Winter Wonderland, which I'd forgotten I had! Flowers as usual from Wild Orchid Crafts. Sparkly lace and pompom edging are from my stash.
Seems even more Christmassy in our house today as we're having a big turkey dinner!
Big hugs

First Christmas card of 2012

Came across this blog today craftyhazelnutschristmaschallenge and I thought it was fab! A great way to encourage us crafters to start early and spread the workload. So here's my first effort of the year.
I've used a Forever Friends stamp on a snowflake shape, coloured in with promarkers and covered the flowers on the gift with snowflake punchies. The backing paper is from Papermania Mistletoe Kisses. I've used white pompom edging, which I love as it looks like snowballs. Finished it off with some white fabric snowflakes from my stash, and lots of little diamantes and Stickles for extra sparkle! The sentiment tag "Christmas Wishes" is attached with a snowflake brad.
Hope you like it!

Babette Cuddling Kitty
This is one of my favourite stamps from Sarah Kay at the mo. The colour scheme was inspired by a scrap piece of rose print paper I found in my room this morning. I cut a birdcage on my Cricut ( my favourite tool!) and have embellished with a dangling charm and flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts. The heart-bow is from my stash.
